Tom Fortier joins HOK as director of science, technology

Tom Fortier, BArch ‘81, has joined HOK's San Francisco studio as vice president and director of science and technology practice in San Francisco. Fortier, AIA, LEED AP, will guide the group's strategic initiatives while leading individual projects.

Tom FortierFortier brings 30 years of experience leading the design and delivery of award-winning research facility projects. He has helped lead multi-stakeholder planning and design teams for clients including Stanford University, the University of California, and the U.S. Department of Energy.

Fortier serves on the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP)'s professional development committee. He has been a design awards juror with SCUP, the American Institute of Architects, and the Center for the Built Environment at the University of California, Berkeley. He is past president of the Vivian and Gordon Gilkey Center at the Portland Art Museum and a registered architect in California and Oregon.
