In his newest exhibit, Gristle Sausage, associate professor of digital arts Michael A. Salter plays the role of a meat grinder: He grinds graphics and memes and shapes them into a “all- you-can-eat visual buffet.”

The billboard-sized installation offers several framed graphics of colorful, pixelated patterns, blurry portraits, cartoon faces, pharmaceutical drugs, and more. The societal mosaic also features one-of-a-kind, minimal, kitschy knick-knack sculptures installed on the opposite wall.

The UO School of Architecture and Allied Arts and the Ford Family foundation have added two new partners to a program that gives more Oregon artists access to visiting curators and art critics. The Oregon College of Art and Craft and the Douglas F.

The 2016 UO Art MFA 2nd Year Exhibition, featuring the work of second-year MFA students in the UO Department of Art, will continue at White Box, 24 NW First Avenue in Portland, through January 30. The exhibition shows the wide range of offerings in the UO’s art program, including collage, video, ceramics, drawing, sculptural bricolage, puppetry, and painting.

An artist whose work has ranged from provocative, avant-garde statements of the feminist struggle and public forums on homelessness to photomontages that juxtapose the carnage of war with the luxury of American homes will visit the University of Oregon for a talk this month.

The photo editors at TIME magazine have selected a new book by Associate Professor Ron Jude, of the UO Department of Art, as one of the best photo books of the year. Lago, the culmination of a four-year project, features images shot in the Southern California desert, where Jude grew up.

Artist and educator Kartz Ucci is being honored with a retrospective exhibition, kartz ucci-an opera for one, at The Art Gym at Marylhurst University in Portland, Oregon.

A book featuring images and the stories of seventy Oregon artists and their studio spaces is now available for purchase at Portland's Monograph Bookwerks and the Hallie Ford Museum of Art.

More than 110 modern and contemporary Japanese prints will be on display as part of the exhibit "Expanding Frontiers: The Jack and Susy Wadsworth Collection of Postwar Japanese Prints," on view beginning Oct. 3 at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art. The exhibit, co-curated by Maude I. Kerns Assistant Professor of Japanese Art Akiko Walley, includes a wide variety of printmaking techniques that range from aquatint and etching to silkscreen and woodblock printing.
