SPD Professor Named Among USA TODAY Women of the Year

USA TODAY announced their annual list of the Women of the Year on February 27. The selection committee chose sixty-one women from across the country who are inspiring the next generation. Whether they are breaking institutional barriers, pushing for change, or leading innovation in their discipline, the women in this list represent the stories and experiences of women across the country. One such awardee is the School of Art + Design's Sports Product Design Professor, Susan Sokolowski, who has the distinction of representing Oregon.

Becoming a Leader in Career Preparation

From a young age, Naomi Evans' parents instilled in her the importance of uplifting others. This grew into a passion for working with communities, leading Evans, MNM ’23 (nonprofit management), to the University of Oregon, where she was able to tailor her coursework, leverage professional development opportunities, access professionals in the field, and get the hands-on experience she needed to prepare for a career after graduation.
