For the past 22 years, DesignIntelligence has conducted its annual survey of architecture and design schools. The survey asks hiring professionals, current students, and recent alumni to provide their perspectives on the strengths of U.S. architecture and design programs.

The 2022 DesignIntelligence surveys are now open!

Updated Due date: Monday, October 3, 2022

The survey should be taken by hiring and supervising professionals working at firms and by current students and those who have recently graduated. Please look below to find links to the surveys.

Student and Recent Graduates Survey

If you are a current student or someone who graduated in the past 36 months (2019–22), please complete a survey to share your experience. We are interested in how you evaluate the program and your preparation for practice. It should take about 15 minutes to complete. Please note that once you begin the survey, you must complete it in one sitting. It will not allow you to exit and continue later.

The surveys will close on Monday, October 3, 2022.

Professional Firms Survey

If you are a person in your firm who hires architects, interior architects or designers, or landscape architects, you are invited to share your experiences and perspectives.

The survey takes 15–20 minutes of your time and can be completed in more than one sitting should you need to exit and return to complete it at a later time, but be sure to save your progress before exiting the survey. Individual responses will be kept confidential but a listing of all responding firms may be published.

Please use the following links to access the surveys. If you are involved in hiring for more than one discipline, you're encouraged to complete each applicable survey.

The surveys will close on Monday, October 3, 2022.

These annual rankings are the leading resource to assess architecture—including interior and landscape architecture—programs on their ability to prepare graduates for professional practice. Survey results are very important to prospective students and their families, especially those considering schools in the Pacific Northwest. Your input is invaluable in providing prospective students and their families with a clearer understanding of their educational options.

If you have questions or comments on the surveys themselves or the methodology behind them, contact Mary Pereboom (mpereboom@di.net) at DesignIntelligence.
