Kathrin “Kat” Walsch is the new Senior Director of Development for the School of Architecture and Allied Arts. Walsch, who has been with UO since 2008, “has a strong appreciation of both the School and University’s approach to development work,” said A&AA Dean Frances Bronet.
Walsch began her UO career in the College of Arts and Sciences, where she was Director of Development, Social Sciences. Since July 2011, she has served as UO’s Regional Development Director in University Advancement, focusing on Northern California.
“It’s an honor to represent one of the world’s top schools in sustainable design [and] it’s an exciting time to join the A&AA team, especially as the school celebrates 100 years of distinction,” Walsch says of her new position. “A&AA is chock-full of excellence—from the visible impact of our artists, architects, and designers around the world to the award-winning Sustainable Cities Initiative and innovative new product design program. I look forward to supporting the outstanding work of A&AA faculty and students and leading the School’s fundraising efforts on the eve of the most ambitious capital campaign in UO history.”
Prior to joining UO, she was Director of Development and Endowed Scholarships at Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls. Originally from Illinois, Walsch has an MBA and a certificate in nonprofit management from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
