Accelerated Master's Program

The Accelerated MA Program (AMP) in Art History and Graduate Certificate in Museum Studies provide high-achieving art history majors an opportunity to earn a BA and MA in art history and a Graduate Certificate in Museum Studies (GCMS) within five years.


How to Apply

A student must have completed the following university-wide and BA requirements prior to applying to the program:

  • WR 121 and either 122 or 123
  • 2 years of second language study
  • At least 32 credits of CoreEd requirements
  • 4 credits of Studio Art
  • 16 credits of ARH lower-division courses
  • At least 12 credits of ARH upper-division courses
  • At least 4 credits of ARH 400-level seminars

Students should express their intent to apply by the end of their junior year. To apply, email arthist@uoregon.edu for the application form or click the button below. Students who are provisionally accepted into the program must
submit the Accelerated Master’s Program Graduate Course Registration Form to be eligible to enroll in graduate-level courses in their senior year.

AMP Application
 

Once a provisionally accepted student is close to finishing their BA degree, they should complete an application in Slate to enter the graduate program officially. Students are encouraged to complete their application on Slate by the priority deadline of December 15 of their senior year; however, applications will be accepted on a rolling basis after the deadline until April 15.


Degree Requirements

Degree requirements are the same as for the BA, MA, and GCMS programs; however, courses can be used to fulfill multiple degree requirements.
